Made for the Nawab of the Carnatic.

• Underglaze blue border with embossed floral decoration & central hand-painted flower
  Soft paste porcelain
  Diameter 26 X 22.5 cms
  

The flower is described on the reverse of the plate as 'Spreading Browallia'. This is taken from 'Curtis's Botanical Magazine' Plate 1136 Vol.26    1808
