  • Black & red ink on handmade paper
    Circa 1920
    38.5 x 26.5 cms
A drawing in black and red ink on handmade paper with uneven edges, of a stylised animal depicted in profile. It seems to have three legs, a head with one eye and with a forward-pointing horn, a prominent hump, large scrotum and a long tail with a tuft at the end, very likely Tagore's rendering of the Indian humped bull or zebu (Bos indicus). Signed with Tagore's monogram in top right corner 'Sri Rabindra'.
